- RFID-BASED SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COLLECTING TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK INFORMATION
CORNING CABLE SYSTEMS LLC
March 04, 2010
Radio-frequency identification- (RFID)-based systems and methods for collecting telecommunications information is disclosed. The methods include storing transceiver information in a transceiver and connector information in an optical fiber connector, and then operably connecting the connector to the transceiver. The connection results in an electrical connection that allows the transceiver information to be communicated to the connector. The connector has a RFID tag that generates a connector RFID-tag signal that includes the connector information and the transceiver information. When electronics equipment are connected to the transceiver, electronics-equipment information is passed through the transceiver to the connector so that the elect... - SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PAYMENT USING RFID
HA, Yong-Jin
March 04, 2010
The present invention relates to a system and to a method for payment using RFID, capable of providing a contactless system which is convenient for payment via a card, and capable of overcoming problems that occur in a case where a plurality of Value Added Network (VAN) companies exist. To accomplish this object, the present invention relates to a payment system using RFID, including: a payment card having an RFID tag for storing authentication information of a user of a payment service; a portable payment terminal which recognizes RFID tags via a contactless system, makes a request for the authentication of a user of a payment service, and transmits request telegrams for payment approval to a relay server; the relay server which receives a... - DEVICES AND METHOD FOR IDENTICIATION AND EFFICIENT RECOVERY OF THE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN AN RFID TAG IN A STEEL WINDING
FERRER ALOS, Javier Francisco
March 04, 2010
Devices and method for identification and efficient recovery of the information contained in an RFID tag in a steel winding. An identification device comprises a fastening body inside the hollow (3) of a steel winding (1), which is preferably magnetic, and a body for accommodating an RFID tag (4). The reading device includes RFID microantennas (13) arranged on at least one of the claws (9) of a crane grapple (8). The method comprises encoding an RFID tag (4) associated with the corresponding steel winding (1), positioning said RFID tag (4) arranged inside the hollow (3) of a steel winding (1), and reading said RFID tag (4) using RFID microantennas (13) arranged at the end of the claws (9) of a crane grapple. - STRETCHABLE WRISTBAND WITH RFID CHIP
PEDICANO, James Joseph

The present invention is an article of apparel, such as a wristband, that includes an radio frequency identification (RFID) device. The wristband is at least partially formed from an elastomeric material that allows the wristband to stretch while being drawn over the user's hand. The RFID device is positioned on or within the wristband. Once affixed, the RFID device remains an integral part of the wristband. The wristband may be used in any available RFID application, including a contactless payment system. - RFID BASED DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING SYSTEM
CARDULLO, Mario, W.
February 25, 2010
A radio-frequency identification (RFID) based computing system includes a plurality of processing stations configured to execute a computer program in a distributed manner. Each processing station includes a radio-frequency identification (RFID) code unique to each processing station, a radio-frequency (RF) communication unit configured to exchange information with other processing stations via a radio frequency, the information including one or more RFID codes of the processing stations, one or more segments of the computer program or one or more portions of data for execution, and a processing unit configured to process the data distributed thereto. The computing system manages segmentation and distribution of the information and collecti... - METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REDUCING SPURIOUS RF SIGNALS IN RFID READER
SYMBOL TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
February 25, 2010
A method for improving RFID readers includes transmitting an outgoing RF signal to an antenna through a directional device, and generating a demodulated vector signal from an RF signal related to the RF signal received from the receiver. The method also includes setting the impedance of a controllable-variable-reflectance element with control-parameters from a memory circuit. The memory circuit includes a look up table having therein a corresponding relationship between the control-parameters and an error vector related to the demodulated vector signal. -
